Ride your music with Audiosurf
Audiosurf takes any mp3, iTunes m4a, or CD track and makes a kind of highway out of it. It only takes a few seconds to create the highway. The track rises and falls to the music, going up as the music is calm, and dropping like a roller coaster when as the music gets more intense. There are colored blocks that you try to collect as you travel down the highway made from any song of your choice some kind of hovercraft or spaceship. In one of the game modes, you try to collect blocks, grouping those of the same color, while in another game mode you try to hit any and all of the colored blocks while dodging the gray (colorless blocks). It ends up being an amalgam of Tetris, Guitar Hero, and a racing game. This is probably the coolest and most entertaining games I have ever seen, and the replay value is priceless. In games like Guitar Hero, there are only a small amount of songs you can play. In Audiosurf however, the number of songs is only limited by your music collection. This is by far the best rhythm game to date. Audiosurf releases through Steam today for only $10.
